New Development of Phase Change Materials

In November 2021, Xishen and the phase change research team of Shanghai Jiaotong University conducted an academic exchange and discussion on phase change materials. The phase change research team of Shanghai Jiaotong University was established in 1998 and currently has 10 fixed personnel, including 1 honorary academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, 3 professors, 4 associate professors, 1 lecturer, and 1 engineer. The main research direction is the design control of microstructure and the modification of materials.

Phase change materials (PCM) are used for thermal energy storage and energy supply through the absorption and release of latent heat in the process of phase transition, which has the characteristics of high heat storage density, wide range of materials and stable working temperature. In recent years, facing the major demand of renewable energy high-density energy storage and thermal management of electronic devices, the use of phase change material PCM to achieve thermal energy conversion storage and passive temperature regulation has become one of the research hotspots in the field of energy. According to the specific energy conversion, transmission and storage and temperature control requirements of PCM, the demand and requirements for our refrigeration and air conditioning will become stronger and stronger in the future. Through this academic exchange, the Xishen team will be more technically advanced in the future. The expansion of PCM in the future will be an important construction for the future development of the company.
